Sandra Taylor is a research software engineer in the Center for Educational Informatics at North Carolina State University where she is responsible for designing and implementing game-based learning environments and intelligent tutoring systems. Sandra joined NCSU in 2019.
Sandra has over 15 years of experience developing software for companies ranging from a small startup to Fortune 50 corporations across multiple industries including transportation, retail, medical, and finance. She is always looking for opportunities to learn new skills and contribute in innovative ways both within an organization and in the larger community.
Sandra has always enjoyed math, puzzles, and video games, so she was naturally drawn to computer programming. She is passionate about expanding participation of women in computer science and engaging girls in STEM from an early age.

HealthQuest
A collaborative partnership committed to increasing middle school students’ interest in health science careers. The project features an interactive Career Adventure Game, a Student Discovery Center, and a Teacher Resources Center.
Future Worlds
Future Worlds is a game-based learning environment about environmental science and sustainability. Learning interactions are designed to foster active engagement and enable learners to construct causal models of the environment and engage in systems thinking.
