I recently completed the Masters Program at NC State University for Art and Design in the Winter of 2012 before being hired by Intellimedia as their full time designer. My focus was in animation and new media, and my thesis focused on 3D character rigging and animation. Although my main interest lies in character animation and 3-D modeling, I have a strong background in Flash and programming with AS3 for interactive design having worked on several web based projects before starting with Intellimedia.
I have always been interested in storytelling so while growing up I devoured comic books, video games, animated film and television at a slightly unhealthy rate. I don’t think anybody else would have called it research, but now that I’m in academia it seems appropriate to label it as such. Whatever it is, I know it continues to fuel my interest in this field. Before moving full time into digital design I worked as a cartoonist for several years after college. Many of the techniques used for this static medium are an essential part of my work flow for its kinetic brother.
I’m excited by the opportunity to work on projects with Intellimedia so I hope that my visual contributions help with engagement in some small way.
